An attempted burglary took place at an arcade in Kriftel, within the Main-Taunus district. A would-be thief targeted a currency exchange machine but failed to break it open. The suspect remains unidentified and fled the scene empty-handed.

The incident occurred when the culprit tried to pry open the cash exchange machine. Despite the effort, the device stayed secure, forcing the thief to abandon the attempt. Police later assessed the damage to the machine, estimating repairs would cost in the low four-digit range.

Authorities have yet to track down the suspect. Investigations are ongoing, but no further details about the perpetrator have been released so far. The attempted break-in happened separately from two recent house burglaries in Kriftel. Those incidents took place on Rossertstraße between 6:19 pm and 10:40 pm on December 25, 2025, and another on Königsberger Straße on December 24, 2025.

The failed burglary left the arcade’s machine damaged but intact. Police continue their search for the unidentified suspect. No further information has been provided about the investigation at this time.
