Explosion destroys cigarette vending machine in overnight heist near Wiesbaden

A cigarette vending machine in Wiesbaden-Klarenthal was destroyed in an overnight explosion. Unknown attackers used explosives to break it open before stealing the cash box. The incident took place between late Thursday and early Friday morning.

The explosion happened sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and 5:35 a.m. on Friday. The machine, located on Graf-von-Galen-Straße, suffered severe damage from the blast. Along with the cash box, an unknown number of cigarettes were also taken.

Police records show no other reported explosions at cigarette vending machines in Germany over the past year. Authorities are now investigating the incident to identify those responsible.

The attack left the vending machine unusable, with both cash and cigarettes stolen. Police continue to gather evidence as part of their ongoing inquiry. No further details about the suspects have been released at this time.
