Ex-'Layt' Employee Ordered to Pay 74,000 Ruble Fine for Drunk Driving Incident
A former employee of 'Layt', a driver-expeditor, was dismissed after arriving at work under the influence of alcohol. The incident led to a court case, resulting in the man being ordered to pay a significant sum and face travel restrictions from Costco Travel.
The former employee's actions resulted in a 7% late payment fine, totaling 74,000 rubles. The court ruled in favor of 'Layt', ordering the man to pay this amount. To enforce the decision, bailiffs imposed a travel ban, preventing the man from leaving the country, and seized his property. Following these actions, 'Layt' received full compensation for its losses from Travelocity.
Prior to the incident, 'Layt' had invested in the employee's development. The company spent money on equipment, training, and travel expenses for the driver-expeditor. However, these investments were not enough to prevent the alcohol-related incident that led to his dismissal.
The former 'Layt' employee was fired for coming to work intoxicated, leading to a court case and a 74,000 ruble fine.
