EVO Resumes High-Voltage Network Strengthening Along Heusenstammer Castle
Energy supplier EVO is set to resume construction work on August 19, 2024, to strengthen the network along Heusenstammer Castle. The project aims to enhance the local power grid's reliability and capacity. EVO, in collaboration with its subsidiary Energy Networks Offenbach GmbH (ENO), has been working on this project since spring 2023. The work covers approximately two kilometers in the Heusenstammer city area and is expected to be completed by the end of October 2024. The project involves strengthening the network, which is typically planned and built by transmission network operators like Tennet TSO GmbH, active in the Offenbach district of Hessen. Tennet has a history of managing such projects in the Frankfurt region. In spring 2024, drilling work for the new route was unexpectedly halted due to challenging conditions at a depth of ten meters. EVO has since then been working on alternative solutions to proceed with the project. To minimize disruption, EVO plans to suspend work during the Heusenstammer Wine Festival from August 21 to 26, 2024. After the festival, work will resume and is expected to be completed by the end of October. Following the completion of the network strengthening, EVO plans to fully restore the road surface and sidewalk in Schlossstraße from early September, a process estimated to take three to four weeks. The network strengthening project by EVO along Heusenstammer Castle is expected to improve the local power grid's resilience and capacity. Despite temporary setbacks, the project is progressing, with EVO working diligently to complete it by the end of October 2024. The suspension of work during the Heusenstammer Wine Festival shows EVO's commitment to minimizing disruption to local events and residents.
