Europ Assistance Names Jochen Zoeschg as New CEO
European Travel Insurance and Europ Assistance have appointed Jochen Zoeschg as the new CEO. He succeeds Wolfgang Lackner, who has stepped down after nearly 17 years. Zoeschg brings extensive auto insurance industry experience and will also lead Europ Assistance Austria and join the Northern Europe Management Committee.
Zoeschg joins from Zurich, where he served on the board of directors. He has a strong background in sales, marketing, and product development within the car insurance sector. Zoeschg is a graduate lawyer who began his career at Zurich in 1998.
Pascal Baumgarten, CEO Mobility, Northern and Eastern Europe, Europ Assistance Group, welcomed Zoeschg's appointment. He expressed confidence in Zoeschg's ability to drive growth and bring fresh ideas to the company. Zoeschg will also oversee Europ Assistance Austria.
Wolfgang Lackner, the outgoing CEO, was thanked for his long-standing commitment by Gregor Pilgram, chairman of the supervisory board. Lackner served as CFO from 2008 to 2014 before becoming chairman of the board and CEO of Europ Assistance Austria.
