Espenau house fire leaves home uninhabitable after early morning blaze

A single-family home in Espenau was completely destroyed by fire early on Sunday morning. The blaze broke out around 5:10 a.m. on Im Teich Street, leaving the property uninhabitable. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the incident. The homeowner escaped the burning house before emergency services arrived. Firefighters arrived quickly, preventing the flames from reaching a neighbouring property. As a precaution, the occupant of the adjacent house was evacuated.

A total of 35 emergency responders attended the scene, including an emergency physician and two ambulances. Two police patrol units and the fire prevention service also assisted. The resident was taken to hospital for checks and later diagnosed with smoke inhalation. The estimated damage from the fire stands at around €350,000. The Kassel Criminal Police have launched an investigation to determine how the blaze started.

The house on Im Teich Street is now uninhabitable after the extensive fire damage. The resident received treatment for smoke inhalation but escaped serious injury. Investigators continue to examine the cause of the incident.
