Erin Rotz Takes Helm as Berkley Fire & Marine’s New President

W. R. Berkley Corporation has named Erin Rotz as the new President of Berkley Fire & Marine. The appointment follows a career spanning over two decades in specialized insurance underwriting. Rotz brings extensive experience in inland marine and construction risk management to her new role.

Rotz started her career at The Hartford, joining as a Senior Marine Underwriter. Over time, she took on greater responsibilities, eventually leading the Builder’s Risk, Inland Marine, and Energy Casualty divisions. Her most recent position there was Head of Builder’s Risk, Inland Marine and Energy Casualty.

Before joining Berkley, she worked as an Executive Underwriter at Philadelphia Insurance Companies. This role further expanded her expertise in complex underwriting and risk assessment. W. Robert Berkley, Jr., President and CEO of W. R. Berkley Corporation, publicly acknowledged her appointment. His comments highlighted the company’s confidence in her leadership for Berkley Fire & Marine.

Rotz now oversees Berkley Fire & Marine, a division specializing in property, marine, and construction-related risks. Her background in underwriting and executive roles positions her to guide the company’s strategic direction. The move strengthens Berkley’s leadership in niche insurance markets.
