Erik HessenmĂźller Named Frankfurt Police Operations Chief After Decades of Service

Erik Hessenmüller has taken over as the new head of the Operations Division at Frankfurt Police Headquarters. His appointment follows years of experience in various roles within the Hesse police force. The officer has steadily climbed the ranks since starting in the state’s police reserve.

Hessenmüller began his career in the Hesse State Police Reserve before advancing to the senior service. Over time, he took on different positions in Frankfurt’s police force. Before his latest promotion, he served as a Polizeirat (police counsellor) and led the Revier 43 precinct in the city.

During UEFA Euro 2024, he worked as one of three operational commanders for the tournament. He also previously headed the Operations Division in Gießen, gaining further leadership experience. Away from work, Hessenmüller lives with his family in the Hochtaunus district. He stays active by running in his free time.

The new role places HessenmĂźller in charge of a key division at Frankfurt Police Headquarters. His background in operational command and local policing will shape his leadership. The appointment reflects his long service and varied experience within the force.
