Emirates NBD Expands DirectRemit to 40 Countries for Instant Transfers
Emirates NBD has revamped its DirectRemit service, offering instant transfers, round-the-clock availability, competitive exchange rates, and a secure global infrastructure. The upgrade expands the service to over 40 countries, including Europe, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, building on its initial success in major remittance corridors.
DirectRemit, launched in 2014, has revolutionized how UAE residents send money home. Initially expanding to major corridors in 2016, it initially covered countries like India and the UAE. Recent expansions have added Pakistan and the Philippines to the list.
The UAE's second global ranking for outbound remittances has driven this growth. The new corridors leverage Emirates NBD's digital ecosystem and a partnership with global fintech Nium. The expanded service is now live through Emirates NBD's mobile and online banking channels, offering near real-time money transfers available 24/7 through the ENBD X mobile app.
Emirates NBD's upgraded DirectRemit service now covers over 40 countries, providing instant, secure, and competitive money transfers. The expansion builds on the UAE's significant role in global remittances and leverages digital technology for convenience and speed.
