Multiple election posters were vandalised in Wiesbaden on 22 February 2026. The incidents occurred at two different locations, with suspects caught defacing campaign materials in the early hours. Police have since launched criminal proceedings against those involved.

The first act of vandalism took place near Bismarckring at around 4:50 a.m. Three individuals—aged 24, 15, and 27—were seen damaging posters before being apprehended by officers. Authorities confirmed that criminal charges have now been filed against them.

A second wave of destruction happened later that night along Mainzer Straße. At 10:55 p.m., more election materials were found defaced. The posters belonged to various political parties, though specific names were not disclosed in reports.

Both locations, Bismarckring and Mainzer Straße, were targeted within the same day. The incidents have raised concerns about the security of campaign materials ahead of the upcoming elections.

Police have taken action against the three suspects responsible for the vandalism. The cases will proceed through the legal system, with potential consequences for those charged. Meanwhile, campaign teams may need to reinforce protection for their posters across Wiesbaden.
