Elderly Woman Robbed in Pfungstadt After Suspects Use Distraction Tactic
An 80-year-old woman in Pfungstadt fell victim to a brazen necklace theft on Monday morning. The incident took place on Frankensteiner StraĆe, where two suspects used a distraction tactic to steal her jewellery. Police are now urging residents to stay alert when approached by strangers.
The theft happened at around 8:30 a.m. on March 9. A man and a woman engaged the elderly victim in conversation before the woman suddenly hugged her. During the embrace, the necklace was taken without the victim noticing immediately.
The suspects quickly fled the scene in a car. Witnesses described the man as between 20 and 30 years old, with short dark hair and a full beard. The woman was of a similar age, with short, light blonde hair.
Authorities have issued a warning to the public, advising caution when strangers make unexpected advances. They recommend keeping valuables secure and reporting any suspicious behaviour.
