Police Arrest Suspected Telephone Fraudsters in Offenbach - Elderly Woman Foils Phone Scam, Three Suspects Arrested in Offenbach

Three suspects, aged 20 and 21, were arrested in Offenbach following a failed phone scam targeting an elderly woman. The incident unfolded when the victim received a call from an imposter claiming to be a bank employee.

The scammer convinced the elderly woman that her account was temporarily blocked and requested her debit card and PIN. Fortunately, she grew suspicious and contacted the police before handing over any money. The scammer and two accomplices, also aged 20 and 21, then attempted to flee in a taxi but were apprehended.

The 21-year-old suspect who initially approached the elderly woman was remanded in custody. The identities and roles of the other two suspects remain unclear as investigations continue into the suspected fraud case.

The elderly woman suffered no financial loss thanks to her vigilance. Three suspects are now in custody, with one held in pretrial detention. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the alleged fraud and the roles of the other two suspects.
