Elderly resident robbed in broad daylight by fake tradespeople
An elderly resident in Elisabethenstraße fell victim to a distraction burglary on Monday afternoon. Three fraudsters posed as tradespeople to gain access to the apartment before stealing cash and personal documents.
The scammers knocked on the victim’s door, claiming they needed to repair the building’s guttering. Once inside, they convinced the resident to hand over a three-figure sum in cash.
While the victim was distracted, one of the criminals took a wooden box containing important docs. The trio then fled the scene in a delivery van. Police are now treating the incident as a distraction burglary. Authorities have not linked this case to any other similar crimes in the area.
