Economic Promotion in Offenbach: Visible Progress Thanks to Clear Strategy

Offenbach am Main is making steady progress in economic growth despite tough conditions. The city has expanded its business hubs, attracted major companies, and pushed forward with key development projects. Recent achievements include new corporate headquarters, a thriving startup scene, and a focus on sustainability.

The city’s Master Plan 2030 has reached its halfway point, with tangible results already visible. A third of the planned measures are complete, while 45% remain underway. Around 14 hectares of land have been prepared for commercial and mixed-use projects, supporting future expansion.

New corporate investments are reshaping Offenbach’s business landscape. In 2023, Samson AG began construction on its modern headquarters at the Innovation Campus. Meanwhile, Danfoss opened its German base in the Kaiserlei district, a riverside site designed for CO₂ neutrality using the company’s own climate technology. The move created 400 local jobs. The Rockywood complex in the harbour area is nearly fully occupied, hosting an innovative circular economy hub. This development aligns with the city’s push for sustainable growth. Downtown, the Weather and Climate Workshop has relocated to larger premises, adding to the city centre’s revitalisation. Offenbach’s administration continues to prioritise service and efficiency. The Office for Economic Development and Property Management has hired two new staff members, reinforcing the city’s long-standing *Best OF Service* approach. Lord Mayor and Economic Affairs Commissioner Dr. Felix Schwenke credited the progress to a clear strategy and a committed team. The city remains a leader in startup activity, holding the top spot in Hesse and climbing in national rankings. This growth reflects ongoing efforts to foster innovation and business development.

Offenbach’s economic strategy is delivering results, from new corporate headquarters to sustainable business hubs. With the Master Plan 2030 advancing and startup activity thriving, the city is positioning itself for long-term success. Further projects in the pipeline aim to build on this momentum.
