Drunk, Unlicensed Driver Arrested After Fatal Chase, Railway Crossing Death

A 21-year-old woman was arrested in Amöneburg-Rüdigheim on November 1, 2023, after a dangerous car chase. She had been driving under the influence of alcohol and cocaine, without a valid license or auto insurance. The incident resulted in significant damage and a pedestrian fatality at a railway crossing in Biedenkopf earlier that day.

Earlier on October 31, 2023, an 82-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a train at a railway crossing in Biedenkopf. The train, traveling from Bad Laasphe to Marburg, was involved in the fatal incident. The total damage from the accident is estimated to be at least €5,000. An expert has been commissioned to reconstruct the accident, and the railway line was closed for several hours.

The woman responsible for the incident was later identified and arrested. She refused a breathalyzer test and a preliminary drug screening at the scene. She was taken to a hospital for treatment and blood sample collection. Subsequent evaluation led to her admission to a psychiatric clinic for further care. The woman was driving a gray Mercedes while intoxicated and without a valid driver's license or car insurance. During her arrest, she repeatedly veered into oncoming traffic, causing no collisions, before crashing into a guardrail.

The woman's reckless behavior, driving under the influence and without proper documentation, resulted in a fatal accident and significant damage. She has been arrested and is facing charges for driving under the influence, endangering road traffic, driving without a license, and violating compulsory insurance laws. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
