Drunk driver with 1.7 per mille alcohol loses license in Wiesbaden

A 37-year-old man from Mainz was pulled over by Wiesbaden police in Kastel early on Sunday. Officers stopped him on Wiesbadener Straße at around 3:50 a.m. after noticing his dangerous driving behavior.

The driver was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Vito when police intervened. Tests revealed his blood alcohol level exceeded 1.7 per mille—far above the legal limit. Authorities immediately confiscated his driver's license and took a blood sample for further analysis.

The man was also found to be speeding at the time of the stop. Criminal proceedings have now been launched against him. Police have not released his identity, as required by privacy regulations.

The case will proceed through the legal system, with charges related to drink-driving and excessive speed. The man's license remains suspended while investigations continue. Further details will depend on the outcome of the blood test and court proceedings.
