Drunk driver caught with 1.62% blood alcohol after near-misses in Neu-Isenburg

**A 27-year-old from Neu-Isenburg is facing charges of endangering traffic. According to police, he was driving his Opel Astra in zigzags early Sunday morning and repeatedly crossed into oncoming traffic. Witnesses also reported that he nearly damaged parked cars in Offenbacher Street and Frankfurter Street.

Control at P+R Parking Lot

A police patrol found the man on the P+R parking lot at the tram end station in Neu-Isenburg just after midnight. The car's engine was still running when the officers checked the driver. They immediately noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

Breath Test with High Result

A voluntary breath alcohol test showed 1.62% BAC. An additional drug test was negative. The driver was taken to the police station where he had to provide a blood sample.

Driver's License Seized

The officers seized the 27-year-old's driver's license. A criminal investigation has been initiated against him. Further witnesses or potential victims can contact the Neu-Isenburg police station at 06102 2902-0.
