Driver arrested on A67 motorway after testing positive for cocaine and cannabis
A 53-year-old man was arrested on the A67 motorway after failing a drug test during a routine traffic stop. The incident took place on January 15, 2026, when Autobahnpolizei officers pulled over a Mercedes driver between Pfungstadt and Darmstadt. Tests later confirmed the presence of marijuana and cocaine in his system.
The driver was initially stopped by police for a standard traffic check. A preliminary drug test returned positive results for both marijuana and cocaine. Officers immediately confiscated his driving licence and took him to the Pfungstadt-Ost rest area for further inspection.
From there, the man was transported to a police station, where a blood sample was taken. The results supported the earlier findings, leading to his arrest. Authorities have now launched criminal proceedings against him for driving under the influence and violating the Narcotics Act.
The driver now faces formal charges related to drug use and impaired driving. His licence remains confiscated while the legal process continues. The case will proceed through the courts in the coming months.
