Drink-Driving Spree in Region Causes Injuries, β¬30K Damage
A series of incidents involving drink-driving have occurred in the region, resulting in injuries and significant property damage.
On the B49, a 47-year-old Audi driver collided with a 34-year-old Peugeot driver, injuring five and causing β¬26,500 in damage. The Audi driver was later charged with driving under the influence, with the incident resulting in β¬2,500 of damage.
In a separate incident, a 36-year-old Polish man, resident of Marktheidenfeld, was stopped by police on October 13, 2025, at around 5:30 PM. He was found to be driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration over 2.5 per mille. Earlier that day, a 76-year-old driver, with a blood alcohol level of 2.6 per thousand, hit a parked BMW and fled the scene.
These incidents highlight the dangers of drink-driving, with significant injuries and property damage resulting from these preventable accidents. Authorities have charged the responsible drivers and urge the public to refrain from driving under the influence.
