Dramatic Frankfurt station rescue saves person trapped under platform

Emergency services rushed to Frankfurt am Main station after a person fell onto the tracks on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred just as an ICE high-speed train was arriving, leaving the individual trapped in a narrow space beneath the platform.

Rescuers received the call at 4:37 p.m. and faced a difficult operation. The injured person had fallen from the platform edge and was wedged in the confined cavity under the structure. First aid was given immediately before securing them onto a stretcher.

To reach the victim, the team had to crawl around 60 metres through the tight gap beneath the platform. After stabilising the patient, they dragged the stretcher back the same distance on their hands and knees to exit the track area safely. Once freed, the injured individual was transported to a nearby general hospital for further medical care.

The rescue required careful coordination due to the restricted space and the approaching train. The person’s condition remains undisclosed, and no official details have been released about their identity or the hospital involved.
