Discover Airlines unveils bold rebrand and expansion plans after Eurowings split
Discover Airlines, the leisure travel arm of Lufthansa Group, is getting a fresh look and a new name. The airline, previously known as Eurowings Discover, has rebranded just two years after its launch. A blue-and-yellow design now replaces the old branding, with all traces of Eurowings removed to avoid confusing passengers.
The first plane in the new livery will take off from Frankfurt to Mallorca on Wednesday. This marks the start of the airline's visual overhaul, though no date has been set for when the updated logo will appear on flights outside Frankfurt.
The company currently operates 22 aircraft from Lufthansa's main hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. By 2024, six more planes will join the fleet, bringing the total to 23. Five short-haul Airbus A320 jets will be based in Munich, while Frankfurt will gain one long-haul Airbus A330.
Looking ahead, Discover Airlines plans to introduce long-haul routes from Munich in 2025. The expansion follows the airline's rebranding and fleet growth, reinforcing its focus on leisure travel from Germany's key airports.
The rebranding removes all references to Eurowings, simplifying the airline's identity for travellers. With new aircraft and routes on the horizon, Discover Airlines is set to strengthen its presence in both Frankfurt and Munich. The updated design and expanded fleet signal a clear shift in the airline's strategy for the coming years.
