Discover Airlines soars with third straight profitable year and fleet expansion plans

Discover Airlines, the Frankfurt-based carrier, has reported another profitable year, marking its third in a row. The airline, second only to Lufthansa at its home airport, served around four million passengers in 2024. Its strong performance comes alongside plans to expand its fleet and enhance long-haul flights.

The airline's financial success continues, with 2024 profits reaching the mid-double-digit millions. This follows two earlier years of profitability, reinforcing its stable position in the market. A key factor in its growth is partnerships with tour operators and travel agencies, which now account for roughly half of its business.

Customer satisfaction remains high, as reflected in a Net Promoter Score (NPS) consistently around 60. To build on this, the company recently introduced a new long-haul in-flight product, aiming to improve passenger experience on extended routes.

Looking ahead, Discover Airlines plans to increase its fleet to 40 aircraft by 2028. No exact timeline for the expansion has been announced yet. The airline currently operates with about 2,100 employees, supporting its operations across short and long-haul networks.

With steady profits, a growing fleet, and strong customer approval, Discover Airlines is positioning itself for further expansion. The carrier's reliance on travel partnerships and its focus on service upgrades suggest a continued push for market growth. The next few years will likely see more developments as the fleet expansion takes shape.
