Dibrugarh's Hindu Milan Mandir to upgrade with new community centre funding
A new community centre at Dibrugarh Hindu Milan Mandir will soon see upgrades after its foundation stone was laid on Friday. The project, funded under the Chief Minister's Untied Fund, aims to strengthen local infrastructure and cultural spaces. Residents and officials gathered to mark the start of construction.
The ceremony took place with Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan leading the event. He was joined by members of the managing committee, social workers, and local residents. In his speech, Phukan stressed the role of community institutions in fostering social unity and preserving cultural traditions.
The Rs 5 lakh sanctioned for the project will go towards improving the Mandir's facilities. The centre serves as a key gathering place for cultural and social activities in Dibrugarh. Locals welcomed the initiative, thanking the government for its financial backing.
State officials have reaffirmed their commitment to grassroots projects that enhance public welfare. The Chief Minister's Untied Fund continues to support similar developments across Assam, though detailed records of recent allocations remain limited to official documents.
Construction at the Dibrugarh Hindu Milan Mandir will move forward with the allocated funds. The upgrades are expected to benefit residents by providing a better-equipped community space. The project reflects ongoing efforts to boost local infrastructure and cultural preservation in the region.
