More trains around Frankfurt after disruptions - Deutsche Bahn restores full Frankfurt rail service but Hanau delays persist

Deutsche Bahn has announced changes to its rail services in the Hanau and Frankfurt regions. From November 17, full timetabled service will resume around Frankfurt, benefiting several routes. However, passengers in the Hanau hub should expect continued disruptions on certain lines.

Starting November 17, Deutsche Bahn will restore full service on routes such as RB12, RE 20, RB 22, RB 34, RB 37, RB 40, and RB 41, allowing passengers to travel to Frankfurt Central Station without disruption. This move comes after the recruitment and training of new signal box personnel.

Unfortunately, passengers using the Hanau hub should still expect disruptions on RB 49 and RB 56 lines. These will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays, and on Sundays from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Deutsche Bahn has attributed these ongoing issues to extended training requirements for signal box operators in the region.

While Deutsche Bahn has made significant strides in restoring full service around Frankfurt, passengers in the Hanau hub can expect continued disruptions on certain lines until March 2026. The company has attributed these issues to the need for extended training of signal box operators.
