Deakin University Students Land First Placements at NAB India

Deakin University has made history by becoming the first foreign institution to set up a physical campus in India. Based in GIFT City, the university offers postgraduate degrees in Business Analytics and Cyber Security, with a practical, career-focused curriculum that has already proven successful.

The campus, led by Head of Campus Operations David Das, has completed its first student placement cycle with the National Australia Bank (NAB) Innovation Centre in India. Seven postgraduate students secured paid internships, with the expectation of transitioning into full-time roles upon graduation. The roles offered at NAB's Innovation Centre in Gurugram, Haryana, span business performance, analytics, financial crime analytics, and customer decision-making.

Student Khushi Saraf, who received a combined internship and job offer, attributes her success to Deakin's curriculum. Professor Deepak Bajaj, Academic and Campus Director at Deakin GIFT City, considers this placement success a 'proud and transformative moment' for the university and the sector. Vikas Malik, Executive Technology at NAB Innovation Centre India, praised the cohort's industry and innovation readiness. Notably, students from Deakin's Master of Business Analytics program secured industry roles with NAB, a major global employer. The NAB Innovation Centre in India serves as a key hub for the bank's global technology and innovation initiatives.

Deakin University's GIFT City campus has achieved a significant milestone with its first student placement cycle.
