Dax Kicks Off 2025 with Gains Despite Mixed Performance

The Dax began the new year with gains, opening on Monday with a positive trend. Despite some key players performing poorly, the index managed to rise.

The Dax started the day with increases, bucking the trend of recent weeks. By around 9:30 AM, it had reached approximately 24,435 points, a rise of 0.8 percent from Friday's close. Among the top performers were BMW, Continental, and Heidelberg Materials, which led the price list. Conversely, Deutsche Telekom, Merck, and Munich Re found themselves at the bottom.

At the helm of these companies were Timotheus Höttges (Deutsche Telekom) and Belén Garijo (Merck), both steering their respective ships through the market's ebb and flow.

The Dax's opening gains on Monday were driven by a mix of positive and negative performances from key companies. Despite some heavyweights lagging, the index managed to close higher, setting a positive tone for the start of the year.
