DAX Closes Down 0.72% on Evergrande Concerns

The DAX ended the week on a downward note, closing at 15,531.75 points after a 0.72 percent drop. This decline was largely attributed to investor worries surrounding the financial woes of Chinese real estate giant Evergrande.

Throughout the week, market observers closely watched the situation at Evergrande, which has been grappling with significant debt issues. These concerns weighed heavily on the DAX, leading to its decline.

Among the DAX constituents, HelloFresh shares were among the worst performers, falling over four percent. Conversely, Daimler and Deutsche Bank shares were among the top performers, both rising over one percent. On Friday, the DAX's largest gains came from Merck (+2.72%), BASF (+1.58%), and Airbus (+1.49%).

The euro also weakened on Friday, with one euro worth 1.1692 US dollars, a decrease of 0.3 percent. Meanwhile, the gold price increased, with an ounce of gold trading at 1,751 US dollars, a rise of 0.5 percent.

The DAX's weekly performance was marked by a decline due to ongoing concerns about Evergrande's financial troubles. Despite this, some DAX constituents, such as Daimler and Deutsche Bank, showed resilience. The euro weakened, while the gold price increased.
