Rüsselsheim will host a public town hall meeting on finances and responsibilities next January. The event takes place on the 15th at 6:30 PM in the Council Chamber of City Hall. Mayor Patrick Burghardt will open with an overview of the city’s financial situation.

The meeting is required under Section 8a of the Hessian Municipal Code. Jens Grode, President of the City Assembly, will lead the session. After the mayor’s presentation, a panel discussion will follow with Deputy Mayor Murat Karakaya, City Councilor Simon Valerius, and local civil society representatives.

Residents can ask questions during the event. Following the panel, representatives from local political factions will debate policy priorities. Invitations have gone out to a wide range of groups. These include government departments, political parties, neighbourhood associations, youth and senior organisations, businesses, and regional media. Educational and cultural institutions have also been encouraged to attend.

The town hall aims to provide clarity on Rüsselsheim’s financial standing. It also offers a platform for public discussion and input. The event will run in accordance with legal requirements and open participation.
