Darmstadt Police Arrest Two in Separate Incidents

Darmstadt, under the jurisdiction of Polizeipräsidium Süd Hessen, has witnessed two swift arrests following separate incidents. A motorcyclist's altercation with a car driver and passenger, and a suspected thief's attempt to steal from a cigarette machine are among the events that led to these arrests.

In the first incident, a 70-year-old man was arrested after trying to steal from a cigarette machine. He was taken to a psychiatric clinic for evaluation. Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was charged with suspected dangerous bodily harm after punching a car driver and his passenger following a dispute. The altercation occurred in Hanau, with the motorcyclist now facing legal consequences.

A hit-and-run incident on the state road 3178 between Mernes and Bad Soden-Salmünster caused approximately 25,000 euros worth of damage. The driver of a black Mercedes failed to fulfill their obligations and continued on their way without reporting the incident. In another incident, a 38-year-old suspect was arrested during a break-in attempt at a hardware store in Erlensee, with stolen goods estimated at around 9,000 euros.

In Bad Orb, an unknown driver damaged the front bumper of a Toyota Yaris, fleeing the scene without reporting the approximately 750 euros worth of damage. An accident involving three vehicles in Neuberg resulted in one person being injured and a Hyundai Santa Fe being towed away, with total material damage estimated at around 40,000 euros.

Darmstadt police have been active in addressing various incidents, including theft, assault, hit-and-run, and property damage. Two suspects, both 70-year-old men, have been arrested and will face charges. The police continue to investigate other incidents, ensuring the safety and security of Darmstadt residents.
