Customs Seize Vehicle Over Counterfeit Car Emblems at Exhibition

Customs officers in Friedrichshafen have seized a vehicle and launched investigations following the discovery of counterfeit emblems of renowned car manufacturers at an antique car exhibition. During a routine check at the exhibition, customs officials found counterfeit emblems on several cars. One military vehicle and a passenger car were under scrutiny. The passenger car, intended for sale, was seized due to modifications infringing on the manufacturer's intellectual property rights. Investigations into trademark law violations are ongoing. Meanwhile, criminal proceedings have begun against the owners for suspected tax evasion. Authorities have collected €3,500 in unpaid import VAT from the undeclared cars. The seized car remains in customs custody pending further investigation. The identity of the car manufacturers whose logos were counterfeited remains unknown. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
