It looks like there might be some event going on, there are different stalls and few people were standing in front of those stalls, in the front there are some tattoos and some other objects kept on the table and two people were sitting beside that table, in the background there are white clothes covered the entire area.

Customs Raid on Hotels: Minimum Wage Violations Uncovered

The Main Customs Office Potsdam has conducted a series of inspections in the hotel and catering industry, uncovering potential violations of the Minimum Wage Act (MiLoG). Further investigations are underway based on preliminary findings.

The inspections, involving 50 officers from Potsdam and Neuruppin, targeted 16 establishments and involved checking the wages of 76 employees. The hotel and catering industry was chosen due to its size and high employment intensity, which makes it particularly vulnerable to black work and wage violations.

Dr. Tim Bretschneider, head of the Main Customs Office Potsdam, is leading the investigations and will provide more details. The general minimum wage in Germany, set at 12.82 euros per hour since January 1, 2025, is a key factor in these inspections. The industry is subject to MiLoG regulations, which aim to ensure fair wages for all workers.

The inspections have revealed potential issues in the hotel and catering industry regarding minimum wage compliance. Further investigations are ongoing, with Dr. Tim Bretschneider heading the efforts. The findings may lead to improvements in wage practices within the industry.
