The man was suspected of tax evasion and a procedure was initiated against him. Customs remind travellers to declare any goods intended for commercial purposes at the red exit.

The man's attempt to evade taxes by smuggling cigarettes was foiled. The Main Customs Office Frankfurt am Main is now looking into potential commercial smuggling. The incident serves as a reminder for travellers to adhere to EU duty-free allowances and declare any goods intended for sale.
