Crime wave hits Main-Taunus: burglaries, thefts, and extremist arrest in 72 hours
A series of crimes took place across the Main-Taunus district between Sunday, October 19, and Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Police reported multiple burglaries, a car theft, and an arrest following a public disturbance involving extremist behaviour. Authorities are investigating each incident separately. On Tuesday, October 21, a 26-year-old man caused a disturbance in Kelkheim. He harassed passersby, shouted extremist slogans, and verbally abused bakery staff. Due to signs of psychological distress, he was taken into custody and transferred to a specialised clinic for evaluation.
Between 12:00 PM and 9:30 PM that same day, thieves targeted two apartment buildings on Teplitzer StraĂe in Hattersheim. Jewellery, coins, cash, and personal documents were stolen. Meanwhile, in Hofheim, unknown perpetrators broke into a garden shed, making off with electronic devices.
A white VW Caddy parked on Königsteiner StraĂe in Bad Soden was also hit. Tools worth âŹ5,000 were taken from the van, which had been left unattended between 5:00 PM on Tuesday and 3:00 AM on Wednesday.
In a separate incident, a green Audi RS3 (registration MTK-B 8055) was stolen via a relay attack. The car had been parked on Am Ambetbrunnen in Hofheim from Sunday evening until Wednesday night. The stolen Audi remains missing, while police continue to gather evidence on the burglaries and thefts. The man arrested in Kelkheim is undergoing psychological assessment. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
