Crime spree in Limburg leaves €55,000 in damages and a stolen van
A series of crimes unfolded across Limburg, Hadamar, and Mengerskirchen over the past few days. A van worth nearly €45,000 was stolen, a young man was assaulted, and an intoxicated driver caused a multi-vehicle crash. Police are now investigating several incidents, including aggravated assault and property damage.
On Monday afternoon, a 20-year-old man was attacked and kicked by a group in Hadamar. The victim suffered injuries, prompting police to launch an investigation for aggravated assault.
Earlier that day, at around 1:45 a.m., a 68-year-old woman was taken into custody in Mengerskirchen. Her blood alcohol level exceeded 1.4 per mille, and her erratic driving led to a multi-vehicle incident. Authorities confiscated her driver’s licence. Over the weekend, burglars targeted properties in Limburg and Elz but failed in all three attempts. Though they left empty-handed, the break-ins caused over €10,000 in property damage. A white Saic Maxus van, registered as LM-AK 354, was stolen from a company premises in Limburg. The vehicle had been parked on Am Fleckenberg street, and police believe the owner lost the keys nearby. The van remains missing.
The stolen van has yet to be recovered, and the injured assault victim is receiving medical attention. Police continue to investigate the incidents, including the drunk-driving crash and the failed burglaries. The total financial impact from the crimes exceeds €55,000.
