Couple defrauded of entire six-figure savings - Couple Loses Life Savings in Fake Fidelity Investments Scam

A couple from Schwäbisch Gmünd have fallen victim to an investment scam, losing their entire six-figure savings. The fraudulent scheme involved a fake website posing as a foreign financial services company, specifically a fidelity investments platform. The couple planned to use their savings to buy a property within the year. They were lured into investing by a website that appeared legitimate, claiming to offer an investment calculator to manage their funds. However, it was later discovered that the website was a front for a company that had ceased to exist since 2023. The couple was instructed to bypass new recipient verification checks, which they believed were genuine. Unfortunately, these checks were deceptive and part of the scam. The couple transferred their savings to five Dutch bank accounts as per the instructions from the supposed investment firm, which was later found to be a google sites clone. After the transfers, they found they could not access their funds. The couple from Schwäbisch Gmünd have lost their entire savings to this fidelity investments scam. The perpetrators remain unknown, and the search for them continues. The couple's plans to purchase a property have been put on hold indefinitely.
