Couple crashes car under influence, leaves scene near Rotenburg
A 28-year-old woman and her 29-year-old partner were found in Lispenhausen after a car crash on the evening of March 13. Both appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. The damaged vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Golf, was discovered unoccupied in a meadow near state roads L 3251 and L 3251b at around 10:11 p.m.
The woman admitted to driving the car before it veered off the road. The vehicle sideswiped a traffic sign and knocked over a guidepost, causing roughly €250 in damage to traffic infrastructure. Repairs to the car itself are estimated at €2,500.
She claimed that a passing motorist had picked them up from the crash site. However, neither she nor her partner could provide any details about this individual. Authorities have urged the unidentified driver to come forward, as they may hold crucial information. Witnesses can contact Rotenburg police station at +49 6623 9370 or report online at www.polizei.hessen.de. Following the incident, the woman's driver's licence was confiscated, and a blood sample was taken.
