Cooperation with Hanau Schools Brings Children's Art to Youth Welfare Office
A new art project is brightening up Hanau Town Hall. Students from two local schools have created colourful canvases to make the Youth Welfare Office feel more welcoming. The paintings were officially handed over to Mayor Dr. Maximilian Bieri last week.
Pupils from Elisabeth-Schmitz School and Friedrich-Fröbel School worked together on the project. They produced ten vibrant canvases, designed to bring warmth and trust to the office space. The idea came from the rotating exhibitions already displayed in the mayor’s corridor.
The artwork now hangs in the hallway of the Inclusion and Participation Services department. This team supports children, adolescents, and young adults with disabilities in Hanau. The goal is simple: to create a friendlier atmosphere for young visitors who might otherwise find the office intimidating.
Mayor and Social Affairs Commissioner Dr. Maximilian Bieri formally accepted the paintings. The project reflects a wider effort to make public spaces more inviting for all.
The canvases will remain on permanent display in the Youth Welfare Office. The initiative helps young people feel more at ease when visiting the department. It also highlights the creativity and collaboration of Hanau’s school communities.
