Cologne/Bonn & Düsseldorf Airports Expand Winter Flights, Boosting Passenger Numbers

Both airports are seeing a boost in travel demand. Cologne/Bonn expects 10 million passengers this year, while Düsseldorf projects a four to five percent increase.

Winter Flight Schedule: Düsseldorf and Cologne Offer More Flights - Cologne/Bonn & Düsseldorf Airports Expand Winter Flights, Boosting Passenger Numbers

Cologne/Bonn Airport and Düsseldorf Airport have released their winter flight schedules, offering more destinations than before. Cologne/Bonn Airport expects around 10 million passengers by the end of 2025, while Düsseldorf Airport projects a four to five percent increase in passengers in 2025 compared to 2024.

Cologne/Bonn Airport's winter schedule includes 22 airlines serving 71 destinations in 30 countries, up from 21 airlines and 29 countries last winter. The airport anticipates over 650,000 passengers during the 2025 fall vacations alone. The busiest day in 2025 was October 12, with over 45,000 passengers.

Düsseldorf Airport's winter schedule offers more than 50 airlines connecting to around 130 destinations across 46 countries. The busiest day in 2025 was also October 12, with over 86,000 travelers. Passenger numbers are projected to rise by four to five percent in 2025, following the 20 million travelers in 2024. However, the airport does not expect to surpass its 2019 record of over 25 million passengers.

Both airports have expanded their winter flight offerings, with Cologne/Bonn Airport expecting around 10 million passengers by the end of 2025 and Düsseldorf Airport projecting a four to five percent increase in passengers in 2025. Despite growth, Düsseldorf Airport does not anticipate breaking its 2019 record.
