Chinese Investors Launch Khabarovsk’s First Local Window Profile Factory

A new window profile factory has opened in Khabarovsk, founded by entrepreneurs from China’s Heilongjiang Province. The investors, Liu Mengmeng and his wife, have relocated to the Habarovsk Advanced Development Territory (ADT) to launch the production facility. Their move follows years of reliance on imported window profiles from China, which are now being manufactured locally instead.

The couple invested 230 million rubles into the project, which currently produces 50,000 square metres of finished products. Demand remains strong due to the region’s expanding residential construction sector. To support operations, the factory sources components from other Russian regions and countries considered friendly to Russia.

Construction has already begun on additional workshops for tempered glass production. The investors aim to start manufacturing their own tempered glass as early as next year. This expansion will further reduce dependence on imports and increase local production capacity. As residents of the ADT, the business benefits from government incentives designed to attract investment. The entrepreneurs, originally from Germany, are also working to boost production localisation, particularly for specialised tempered glass.

The factory’s launch marks a shift from imported window profiles to local manufacturing in Khabarovsk Krai. With plans to produce tempered glass by next year, the facility will strengthen regional self-sufficiency. The project’s success so far reflects both market demand and the advantages of operating within the ADT.
