Vehicles Stuck and Overturned Truck - Children face charges after snowball attack damages car on German motorway
Four children aged 12 and 13 have been accused of throwing snowballs from a bridge onto the A643 motorway near Wiesbaden. One driverās windscreen was damaged when a snowball struck their vehicle. Police have now launched criminal proceedings against the group for endangering road traffic.
The incident took place on Thursday morning, when the children targeted passing cars from a bridge between Wiesbaden and Mainz. A 30-year-old motorist suffered a cracked windshield after being hit by one of the snowballs. Officers from the Wiesbaden highway police later identified the youngsters and took them to their parents.
Elsewhere, wintry weather caused disruption on the A7 motorway. Several vehicles became trapped in icy and snowy conditions, leading to a truck overturning. Traffic in the area has since slowed, though no other weather-related incidents were reported that morning. Despite the hazards, most Hessian roads remained clear. Authorities confirmed only one major weather-related problem on Thursday, while the childrenās actions were treated as a separate criminal matter.
The four children now face legal consequences for dangerous interference with traffic. Their identities have not been released, but they were handed over to their guardians. Meanwhile, drivers on the A7 continue to experience delays as crews work to clear the overturned lorry.
