Chhattisgarh boosts police infrastructure with ₹255 crore modernisation drive

Chhattisgarh has unveiled a major upgrade to its police infrastructure with new facilities worth ₹255 crore. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai officially inaugurated the projects, which include cyber police stations, residential complexes, and new station buildings across the state.

The initiative aims to modernise law enforcement and improve working conditions for officers, especially in remote and high-priority areas.

The newly launched projects cover a wide range of facilities. Among them are eight cyber police stations, including new ones in Jashpur, Raigarh, and Rajnandgaon—bringing the state's total to 13. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma emphasised the importance of these stations in tackling digital crime.

The development works also feature nine new police station buildings, Indian Reserve Force campuses in four districts, and a Central Armed Police Force outpost at Mana. Additional facilities include SDOP offices, police outposts, transit hostels, and housing units. These upgrades are designed to support both officers and the public by enhancing security and operational efficiency.

The Chief Minister praised the construction efforts, stating that the new infrastructure would strengthen law and order. He also highlighted the government's commitment to improving workplace and housing conditions for police personnel, particularly in sensitive and hard-to-reach regions.

The ₹255 crore investment will expand Chhattisgarh's police capabilities with modern stations, cyber units, and residential facilities. The upgrades are expected to provide better resources for officers while reinforcing public safety across the state. Officials have described the initiative as a key step in supporting law enforcement operations.
