Central Hesse rocked by drunk driving, arson, and €120K in damages

A series of incidents across central Hesse has left authorities investigating multiple cases of crime and traffic violations. Over the past few weeks, police have dealt with a drunk-driving collision, a late-night crash, a suspected arson attack, and a high-value theft from a garage.

On Bahnhofstraße in Haiger, a 50-year-old Opel driver was arrested after sideswiping a parked Audi in a shopping centre car park. The damage to the Audi was estimated at €3,500, with police confirming the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Authorities continue to investigate each case, with appeals for public assistance in the theft and arson incidents. The drunk-driving arrest and late-night crash remain under review, while the total financial losses from these events exceed €120,000.
