Central Hesse: LAHN-DILL DISTRICT: Office building broken into - Alcohol, cash, and meat stolen
Two separate break-ins occurred in the Lahn-Dill district over the weekend of December 12–13, 2025. Thieves targeted a pub in Herborn-Seelbach and an office building in Driedorf, stealing cash, alcohol, and meat. The total losses and damages run into thousands of euros.
The first incident took place at a pub on Hohe Straße in Herborn-Seelbach in the early hours of December 12. Unknown intruders forced entry, taking alcohol, meat, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The stolen goods and money amounted to a loss of around €1,300.
Hours later, between 8:00 PM on December 12 and 8:00 AM the following day, burglars struck an office building in Schneiderstriesch Straße, Driedorf. They ransacked the premises, tampered with a safe, and made off with its contents. The damage from the break-in alone is estimated to cost several thousand euros. Police have not yet identified any suspects in either case. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
Authorities are examining evidence from both scenes to determine whether the crimes are linked. The combined financial impact includes stolen property and extensive property damage. Business owners have been advised to review their security measures.
