CCMC Project Faces Changes After Issues Uncovered in Independent Review

The Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) project faces potential changes after an independent review uncovered issues. The P700 million contract awarded to Dakay Construction and Development Corp. (DCDC) for the fifth phase may be realigned due to these problems. Currently, no civil works are ongoing at CCMC.

An independent review has revealed that some phases of the CCMC's construction are only complete on paper. The P700 million contract awarded to DCDC for the fifth phase may be realigned due to these problems. Mayor Nestor Archival confirmed this, stating that only three floors of the planned 10-story building are operational. The fourth to seventh floors lack interior partitions, and the eighth to tenth floors remain unconstructed.

The review also raised concerns about the P700 million contract awarded to DCDC for the fifth phase. Although the contract was signed in December 2024, construction has not yet begun. Mayor Archival is now considering realigning this contract after reviewing recommendations from engineering and architect associations in early October. He has proposed a phased construction approach to complete the project.

The CCMC project's future is under review, with potential changes to the civil works plan and the P700 million contract. Mayor Archival is set to assess recommendations from professional associations to determine the best course of action for completing the project.
