A routine traffic check on the federal highway 3 near Frankfurt turned into an unusual discovery. A driver of an Audi A4, a 28-year-old male, attempted to overtake a police vehicle despite clear 'Closed' signs, raising suspicion. The subsequent inspection revealed an unexpected stash of cash in the vehicle.

The highway police patrol, headed towards Cologne, was conducting a traffic control between the Frankfurt intersection and the Kelsterbach exit. The Audi A4 driver's attempt to bypass the patrol car, despite not having a valid driver's license, prompted the officers to investigate further.

Upon inspection, they discovered a large sum of cash totalling €87,240 with the passenger, a 26-year-old female. The money was reportedly from their recent wedding and was being carried for security reasons. The couple, who have not been publicly named, was taken to the police station for further criminal proceedings but were later released.
