Buchloe Welcomes Planova's €10M Investment, 100 Jobs in New Facilities
Buchloe is set to welcome a significant investment and job creation with Planova's new facilities. The company aims to build large production halls in the 'Buchloe Northwest III' industrial park, focusing on manufacturing structural components and wooden modules. The project, approved with minimal opposition, could generate around 100 jobs but may also increase traffic.
The new facilities will span an 11-hectare site near Buchloe's western outskirts, with up to 80% dedicated to development. The main production hall alone will cover 27,000 square meters, stretching up to 200 meters in length, between 138 and 185 meters in width, and 19 meters in height, with technical installations reaching up to 25 meters.
The zoning bylaw passed with just two opposing votes, following discussions on stormwater management, greenery provisions, and the mandate for green facades. The city has secured a right of first refusal to repurchase the land if necessary through a comprehensive urban development agreement. Hörmann, a major local employer, plans to repurpose wood waste into pellets for heating, targeting an autonomous energy supply.
Planova's investment in Buchloe is expected to bring significant economic benefits, with the creation of around 100 jobs. The project, involving an 11-hectare site, has been approved with minimal opposition and includes provisions for greenery and stormwater management. Hörmann's expansion plans involve a double-digit million-euro investment, with specifics depending on economic and political conditions.
