Break-in and Van Theft in Wetzlar; Man Arrested for Far-Right Threats
Unknown intruders broke into a ground-floor apartment on Bannstraße in Wetzlar between October 12 and 17, 2025, making off with jewelry worth €750. A white Renault Trafic van, valued at €21,800, was stolen from a car dealership in Haiger around the same time.
The stolen van was found abandoned without license plates. Authorities urge anyone with information about the vehicle to contact Dillenburg Police at (02771) 907-0.
Separately, a 50-year-old man was arrested in Wetzlar after causing a disturbance. He was heavily intoxicated and shouted far-right slogans, threatening someone with a knife. The man was taken into temporary custody and is now facing charges for threats and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations. Witnesses of the break-in are asked to contact Wetzlar Police Station at (06441) 918-0.
The investigation into the break-in and the theft of the van is ongoing. Authorities remind the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
