BPOL-KS: Headbutt in the Regional Express
A 20-year-old Syrian man was assaulted on a Regional Express train yesterday afternoon. The attack took place at 4:18 p.m. while the train travelled from Cölbe to Marburg. Police are now searching for three unknown men involved in the incident.
The victim was headbutted by one of the attackers aboard the RE 97 service. Two other men accompanied the assailant, though all three remain unidentified. After the assault, the young man reported suffering from headaches.
Federal Police from Gießen met the victim upon arrival at Marburg Central Station. Paramedics provided immediate treatment at the scene. Authorities have since launched criminal proceedings, with the Federal Police Station in Kassel leading the investigation. The motive for the attack is not yet known. Police reports describe the suspects only as unknown individuals. Witnesses with any information are asked to come forward.
