Boy, 12, Escapes Serious Injury After Falling on Train Tracks

A 12-year-old boy escaped serious injury on Friday evening after falling onto the tracks at Rodgau-Nieder-Roden station. The boy, who was playing with his 13-year-old brother, was grazed by an oncoming S1 commuter train bound for Wiesbaden. The incident occurred as the pair were playing near the platform edge. The younger boy lost his balance and tumbled onto the tracks. Fortunately, the train was approaching at a slow speed and only grazed the boy, causing minor injuries. Emergency services, including firefighters, police, and a Deutsche Bahn emergency manager, swiftly responded to the scene. The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment. The incident led to temporary closure of the station and tracks, causing disruption to rail services throughout the evening. Passengers were advised to use alternative transport or expect delays to their journeys. The boy's injuries are not life-threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers around railway tracks and the importance of adhering to safety guidelines when using public transport.
