BMW 3 Series vandalized in Bernsfeld as car thefts surge in Vogelsbergkreis

A gray BMW 3 Series was vandalised in Bernsfeld, Mücke, on Tuesday evening. Between 8:00 PM and 11:15 PM, unknown offenders smashed the car's windows and stole its m. The estimated cost of the damage is around €4,000.

The incident took place on February 3, when the vehicle was parked in Bernsfeld. Thieves targeted the m and caused further destruction by breaking the windows. Local authorities are now investigating the case.

This attack follows a broader trend in the region. Over the past 12 months, around 250 cases of tyre or used cars thefts were reported across the Vogelsbergkreis and neighbouring districts, including Gießen, Wetteraukreis, and Main-Kinzig-Kreis. The Vogelsbergkreis alone accounted for roughly 60 of these incidents, according to Hessian police statistics.
